Oregon Wine Services Merges with Wineshipping

Alliance Creates Largest Consumer-Direct Wine Shipping Company in US

McMinnville, Ore. September 19, 2014 - Oregon Wine Services, the premier wine shipping, storage and transportation company in Oregon, announced today that it has joined with Wineshipping, the Napa-based leading provider of wine shipping services, in a move that strengthens and streamlines fulfillment of e-commerce and winery-direct shipments across the country.

The merger creates the largest direct wine shipping company in the US and utilizes a network of temperature controlled distribution and storage facilities across the country. The eight strategically located warehouses allow for faster and less expensive wine delivery while ensuring product integrity and the highest standard of customer service.

OWS will continue to be operated as a separate entity led by current General Manager, Jeff Meader, and VP of Operations, Tim Moore. The new alliance with Wineshipping allows OWS to enhance services to existing and prospective customers by adding three tier shipping, temperature controlled supply chain solutions and last mile deliveries from strategic hubs to Trade and Consumer destinations.

“We are excited to join with OWS,” said Rick Moradian, Wineshipping CEO. “As we got to know Jeff and Tim, we realized this was an ideal fit from both a cultural and business perspective. Like OWS, we've grown with the wine industry and continue to focus on delivering the best service experience for our clients and colleagues. Our alliance positions us well to satisfy the surge in direct-to-consumer demand and explosion of e-commerce sales. Together, we’ll strategically meet the needs of wineries and consumers throughout North America.”

Jeff Meader added: “Responding and adapting to the unique needs of the Oregon wine industry has always been our top priority and this partnership brings strong advantages which allow us to offer more options to our clients.  Wineshipping has an impeccable reputation and we share the same business philosophies. There’s no doubt that their technological advantages will benefit Oregon, particularly with  the escalating demand for direct wine shipping services which necessitates a new level of service in our fulfillment process.  Aligning with Wineshipping allows us to do just that and more.”
