'Clone wars’: the subtle nuances of different pinot noir clones. Clonal selection is yet another tool that winemakers and viticulturists can use to further express the complexity of each vineyard site. Since its inception, the Oregon Wine industry has experimented with many different clones to find the perfect Pinot Noir. On our 19 acre estate vineyard we have six different clones of Pinot Noir. This Saturday taste barrel samples and finished wine samples of the different clones of Pinot Noir that are planted on the Solena Estate site. Taste the subtle difference and choose your favorite!
