Meet The Artist Rob Ramage @ 503 Uncorked

Join us at 503 Uncorked to meet local artist Rob Ramage. Rob is very interested in the connection to the natural world’s universal energy, spirit and experience. Rob believes that all of us, as part of the human experience, can get in touch with this in natural lands and wild places. In his painting, Rob wants to tap into this from his own experience but also to pass this on to others who view his art.

Almost all of Rob’s studio art starts from plein air paintings, drawings and the experience that he has in that place. So like many plein air painters, Rob tries to capture the true sense of the land in its form, perspective and color. As this gets integrated with his experience, forms, mark making and color tend to get abstracted. This is especially true in the studio where his mind’s eye is more focused on the experience. Rob wants to share this experience with others so that they too may enjoy and find this connection that is beyond a typical state of consciousness.

Rob is trained as a professional artist as well as growing up with a father who was a painter and jeweler. Rob holds a BFA from PNCA. Rob’s work is in private collections and institutions across the United States.
